NORMAN, OKLA. – (May 26, 2010) – The new Echelon™ Series horizontal discharge air conditioner from Coleman® provides high capacity, high efficiency and whisper-quiet operation in a compact unit.
Available in 2.5- to 5-ton capacities, the unit features state-of-the-art MicroChannel aluminum coil technology to provide enhanced sizing and efficiency levels that range from 13.0 SEER/11.5 EER with a loose coil to 15.6 SEER/13.75 EER when coupled with a variable-speed indoor blower.
The new air conditioner uses environmentally friendly R-410A refrigerant and a high-efficiency scroll compressor that is internally protected against high temperature and pressure by the simultaneous operation of a temperature sensor and a high-pressure relief valve. The compressor combines with a swept wing fan design to ensure quiet operation, with levels as low as 71 dBA.
Easy installation in tight spaces and the ability to stack units can be attributed to the air conditioner’s compact “slim-line” design. Installation time and costs are further reduced by easy power and control wiring connections.
Maintenance, too, is easier thanks to permanently lubricated motor bearings. The unit also features easy service access and a secured service valve for easy evacuation and charging.
The heavy-gage steel cabinet and tubular base provide support for the air conditioner. The protective yet attractive finish makes the unit as much as 33 percent more durable than units with conventional powder-coat finishes.
Part of a versatile air-conditioning system, the 13 SEER horizontal discharge condensing unit is designed to be custom-matched with one of Coleman’s® complete line of evaporator sections. The system offers matching air handlers for upflow, downflow or horizontal applications. Electric kits are available, if required, as well as add-on coils for use with upflow, downflow or horizontal furnaces and air handlers.
